Cinematographers film scientific events in cooperation with the laboratory staffs. They film successively for several nights' vigils the time-lapsed microscopic films. It requires several weeks to film only one cut.
The Micro-Cinematography Room
is equipped with various microscopes, such as a Fluorescence
Microscope, a Nomarski Microscope, an Intracellular-Calcium
Concentration Analysis System, a Conforcal Laser Scanning
Microscope, etc. These equipments enable us to visualize
the subjects suiting the investigated theme and our original
films. Films of 16 and 35 mm are also recorded as digital
disks, videos, and films for a giant screen.
Depending on the necessity, we use a
Scanning Electron Microscopy to film the materials
in more detail.
